History of Mascot Pecan Shelling Company, Inc.
The Mascot, in Glennville, Georgia, had a humble beginning in 1955 as a roadside tourist stop and gas station, catering to those traveling to and from Florida on the once busy Highway 301. Started by Mills and Juliet Tarver, the Mascot quickly became known for its unique handmade candies and fresh Georgia pecans.
Mills started shelling pecans by hand and putting them in bags for tourists. Customers were soon calling back and asking for more. That’s when Mills started a small, mail order business shipping pecans. As the business grew, Mills added an automated cracking system and formed Mascot Pecan Company specializing in fresh-shelled Georgia pecans. The roadside store and gas station were closed in the late 1960s when most of the traffic on Hwy. 301 was routed to Interstate-95
Mills' and Juliet's sons, Kenny Tarver and Tim Tarver, took advantage of the opportunity to buy the business from their father in 1991. “We grew up in the business. I’ve never worked anywhere else. We learned the business from the bottom up. My father was so proud to see his two sons take over and continue the family business,” Kenny said. From it's humble beginnings sixty years ago, the Mascot has evolved into an integrated shelled pecan and candy processor for the specialty food enthusiast.
Today, the Mascot Pecan Shelling Company, Inc. stands in the same location where the original Mascot stood. As a second generation family business, we hope you enjoy our products as much as we enjoy supplying them to you!

When are new crop pecans available?
Usually around the first week of November.
Do you offer corporate gifts?
Yes! Many of our items are especially suited for business gift giving. Please contact us to discuss the details of your order.
Do you offer discounts on large business gift orders?
We offer a discount program for our corporate orders based on the total dollar amount of your order. Please contact us for more information.
How do you ship your products?
We ship Monday – Friday via UPS Ground. Most orders are processed within 24-48 hours and will arrive within 2-5 business days.
Where do you ship to?
We are able to ship to the continental United States. We are unable to ship to Alaska and Hawaii at this time.
Can you ship to PO/APO addresses?
At this time, we are unable to ship to PO/APO addresses.
Will I be charged if the address I entered is incorrect?
Please check all addresses before submitting your order. We can not be held responsible for orders that are lost or late due to incorrect shipment addresses. If your order is returned to us because of an incorrect address, we will contact you and let you know. If the gift is to be re-sent to a different address, you will be responsible for paying the additional shipping fee.
Do you ship year-round?
Yes, all items except for chocolate are available year-round. Chocolate items are available from approximately October through February.
